INSPIRATION BEHIND PROJECT SMILE FASHION ON FIRE GALA

Client: Project Smile | Team: Catherine Pisacane, Founder of Project Smile

After attending several past events that Catherine Pisacane, Founder of Project Smile, was hosting in support of Project Smile, I ask her for design opportunities. Catherine needed a graphic designer to create graphics and promotional materials for her yearly Gala. In the Spring of 2017, the Gala was named Fashion on Fire. Catherine wanted an image to represent the name, fashion industry as well as something that would stand out against all other fashion events. Fashion on Fire Gala was to be the first large event for Project Smile and during Boston Fashion Week featuring a silent auction, fashion vendors, and runaway show.
The promotional materials created during the year include a flyer, a sponsorship package for vendors, advertisements and a program booklet. Advertisements were seen on Project Smile Facebook event page, website and newsletter, Boston Fashion Week website, yelp.comboston.com, and other Boston event websites plus in the Improper Bostonian Fall Arts Issue.
The success of the Fashion on Fire Gala in 2017 came more projects for Project Smile and another Fashion on Fire Gala. This time the Gala was to kick off Boston Fashion Week 2018. The flyer format change as the title of the event and the imagery remained the same. The same promotional materials were produced with updated content to promote the Gala.  As the result of the Fashion on Fire Gala 2017 and 2018, the Gala raised over $30,000 combined.
Beyond designing for Project Smile Galas, I supported additional events such as Laugh Night: Comedy Show Gala and Spring Fest 2019, benefiting the Massachusetts Department of Children and Families. I also served on the fundraiser committee, sourcing donations from restaurants, bars, and entertainment companies to support successful silent auctions and increase fundraising impact.
Stephanie has done a wonderful job as a graphic designer for Project Smile...I have been impressed with her professional manner...how she listened to the type of images that we wanted and above all, the quality of her design work- it is truly excellent!” -  Catherine Pisacane, Founder of Project Smile
